Why the same firm for scaffold and roof is simpler

Two trades, one survey, two lines on the sheet. The argument about whose delay it was does not land on you.

What usually goes wrong with split contractors

The roofer wants the lift at a height the scaffolder did not board. The covering overruns and the scaffold company starts the weekly clock while the two firms argue by text. The house sits open because nobody owns the temporary roof. You paid both. You still do not have a dry loft.

What two lines actually means

We do not blend the roof into the scaffold, or the hire into the tiles. You see erect, weekly hire, strike for the access. You see the covering as its own figure. If you only want one of those trades, that is the quote. If you want both, you still get two lines — not a bundled mystery.

You can still use your own roofer

Access-only jobs are most of the diary. Send the postcode and say so. The same form, the same areas, no pressure to take the covering.

Quick answers

Is it cheaper as a package?

You avoid two surveys and the delay-blame. The numbers stay itemised. We will not discount the hire to hide it inside the tiles.
