Typical hire windows
Chimney repointing: often 1–2 weeks. A straightforward front roof: 2–4 weeks. A full roof replacement: 4–8 weeks if the weather is kind. A loft conversion: the scaffold is frequently up for the whole build, not the week the dormers go on. Extensions vary with the brickie, not with us.
- Ask the trade who will stand on it, not the person who wants it down for the photos
- Add weather if the covering is coming off
- Add inspection time — we inspect during the hire; we do not vanish after erect
Why the weekly rate is the real number
A cheap erect with a painful weekly rate is not cheap if the roofer overruns. We print the weekly hire. If the job finishes early, you are not paying for weeks you did not use. If it overruns, you know the cost before it happens.
Quick answers
Can you strike part of the scaffold while the rest stays up?
Sometimes, if it was designed that way. A surprise partial strike is how people leave an unsafe edge. Tell us at quote if the programme is phased.
